D1 Round 5 (Regular Season): Al Qadisiyah lose their first game against Al Ula

D1 is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 5 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Al Qadisiyah (4-1) on the court of leader Al Ula on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Al Ula 70-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Qadisiyah. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Ula forced 19 Al Qadisiyah turnovers. American swingman Sara Dickey (177-1995, college: Evansville) stepped up and scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Awrad Alfaleh (170-1997) chipped in 19 points. American-South Sudanese guard Delicia Washington (178-1997, college: Clemson) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. Al Ula have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record which they share with defeated Al Qadisiyah. Al Qadisiyah at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Al Ula are looking forward to face league's second-placed Jeddah Ath. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Qadisiyah will play against Jeddah and is hoping to win this game.

Jeddah's coach rotated eighteen players seeing no chance for a win. Jeddah Ath. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 3-2 record behind leader Al Ula. Jeddah at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Jeddah Ath. will play against league's leader Al Ula in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jeddah will play against the league's leader Al Qadisiyah and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The best player for the winners was Kwanza Murray who had a double-double by scoring 53 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Taylor Jones produced a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 23 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Game Masters' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jeddah Utd maintains third place with 2-3 record having just two points less than leader Al Ula. Loser Game Masters keep the second position with four games lost. Jeddah Utd will again meet at home league's second-placed Game Masters in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Game Masters will have a break next round.

Very significant was Jeddah Ath.'s (#2, 3-2) victory against 4th placed Jeddah (0-5) 71-51. Jeddah Ath. held Jeddah to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Swingman Yusra Abuljadayel (167-1995) nailed 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Fahda Alsuliman accounted for 24 points and 7 rebounds.
