Al-Ula (SBL) agreed terms with 28-year old Australian-South Sudanese ex-international center Thon Maker (216cm-1997) for new 2025-26 season. Maker is the second import player in the roster as Lebanese Wael Arakji signed here earlier.
He played this summer at Al Riyadi in Lebanese LBL league. He managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!).
In 2016 he was drafted by Milwaukee Bucks (NBA) in first round (10th overall).
He also represented Australia at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jakarta (Indonesia) three years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 6 games: 17.2ppg, 8.8rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 54.7%, 3PT: 30.4%, FT: 75.0%.
Maker is quite experienced player. Maker's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in seven different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. Maker has played previously professionally in Canada (Athlete Institute), China (Sturgeons), Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem), Italy, Kuwait (Kuwait), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons) and NBA G League (Long Island Nets).
