Beirut Club tabs Thomas Wimbush, ex Al-Ula

Thomas Wimbush

Beirut Club (LBL) inked 31-year old American 201cm forward Thomas Wimbush (college: Fairmont State, agency: Slash Sports). Wimbush moved there from Al-Ula in Saudi Arabian Division 1. In 17 games he averaged impressive 18.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 3.4apg and 1.2spg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week and selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Third Team. The last season he played at Brave Thunders in Japanese B1 League where in 60 games he had 13.3ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.3apg. Good season as he was also here voted League Player of the Week (2 times).
In 2017 Long Island Nets selected him as fourth overall pick in G-League draft.
The former Fairmont State (NCAA Div.II) star is in his eighth season in pro basketball.
Wimbush is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Wimbush has played previously professionally in France (JSF Nanterre), Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg), Italy (Napoli), Russia (Zenit), Turkey (Petkimspor), NBA (LA Clippers) and NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks). He played in the final of MEC Tournament in 2015 and 2017.
Wimbush was voted to French ProA All-Star Game back in 2022.
