Brillantes de Zulia (SPB) inked experienced 35-year old American 203cm power forward Latavious Williams for upcoming season. Williams played most recently at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL league. In 21 games he recorded 11.7ppg, 9.0rpg and 1.1apg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Great season indeed as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Honorable Mention.
In 2009 he was drafted by Tulsa 66ers (D-League) in first round (16th overall).
Williams is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Williams has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Manama), Bosnia (Igokea), Germany, Israel (Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Holon), Kuwait (Kazma), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), Russia (UNICS Kazan), Spain (Joventut, Valencia and Zaragoza), South Korea (Egis and Anyang), Dominican Republic (Metros) and Venezuela (Bucaneros).
Among many awards he won Korean KBL championship title in 2021. He was selected to Asia-Basket.com Korean KBL All-Imports Team back in 2021.
Williams is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Brillantes.
