Saudi Arabian SBL round 12 best performance: Jonathan Gibson (by Hoops Agents)

American Point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-PG-1987) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al-Ula, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 37-year old player was the main contributor (53 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Ohod (#7, 3-9) with 44-point margin 133-89. Al-Ula maintains the 3rd position in Saudi Arabian SBL. They are still close to the very top. Al-Ula would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. In the team's last game Gibson had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range and got nine three-pointers out of 15 attempts. He turned to be Al-Ula's top player in his first season with the team. Jonathan Gibson averages this season 30.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Senegalese Mamadou Samb (210-C/F-1989) of Al Salam. Samb had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 24 rebounds. Of course he led Al Salam to another comfortable win 89-75 over the lower-ranked Al Safa (#9, 3-9) being unquestionably team leader. Al Salam's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Samb is a newcomer at Al Salam, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.4ppg (#3). He also registered 14.8 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Al Salam's star - American guard Ashford Golden (195-G-1995). Golden got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and four assists. He was another key player of Al Salam, helping his team with a 89-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Safa (#9, 3-9). The chances of Al Salam ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Golden could help Al Salam to bring them higher in the standings. Golden has a very solid season. In 3 games in Saudi Arabia he scored 29.3ppg. Golden attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
