Al Ula (D1) added to their roster 32-year old Swedish ex-international small forward Farhiya Abdi (188cm-1992). She is the second foreign player in the roster as Lebanese Miramar Mokdad signed here earlier.
She played last season at Charnay in French LFB league. But in 11 games she recorded just 1.7ppg and 1.6rpg.
The previous (2022-23) season she played at Magnolia La Molisana Campobasso in Italian league. She also played for Tango Bourges Basket in France.
In 2012 she was drafted by Tulsa Shock (WNBA) in second round (13th overall).
She was also a member of the Swedish international program for some years. Abdi played for Swedish Senior National Team between 2011 and 2022 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2012.
She also represented Sweden at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) in Serbia and Latvia six years ago. During this event she scored an average of 5.5 points per game and had 1 rebounds per game.
Abdi is quite experienced player. She has played also in Israel (Maccabi Bnot Ashdod), Italy, Poland (Wisla), Slovakia (Good Angels), Spain (Avenida and Tenerife), Turkey (Mersin BSB, Botas, Galatasaray, Kayseri and Yakin Dogu), WNBA (LA Sparks), Czech Republic (Zabiny Brno) and Sweden (08 Stockholm and Fryshuset).
Her team made it to the Europe final in 2019.
