Alley Jr.'s double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

American Forward Cedrick Alley Jr. (198-F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Al Safa of Safwa and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 19 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Al Khewaildia (#10, 0-8), the league's bottom-ranked team 79-64. Al Safa is placed at 5th position in Saudi Arabian league. Al Safa is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. Alley Jr. turned to be Al Safa's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Texas San Antonio graduate has very impressive stats this year. Alley Jr. is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.2rpg) and averages solid 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Mamadou Samb (210-C/F-1989) of Al Salam. He is Senegalese-Spanish in his first season at Al Salam. In the last game Samb recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Salam was edged by slightly higher-ranked Al Fateh (3-5) 82-78. This loss caused Al Salam to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Samb is a newcomer at Al Salam and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#4). He also registered 13.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Kenny Hayes (189-G-1987) of Ohod Medina (#8). Hayes got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Ohod, leading his team to a 76-68 win against Al Khaleej (2-6). Ohod can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Hayes has individually a great season in Saudi Arabia. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.8ppg (5th best).
