Samb's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

35-year old SEN-ESPn Mamadou Samb (210-C/F-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al Salam and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 45 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Ohod (#8, 0-2) with 40-point margin 108-68. Thanks to this victory Al Salam moved-up to the 6th position in Saudi Arabian league. Al Salam is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Samb had a remarkable 81.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Al Salam's top player in his first season with the team. Samb has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 32.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 13.5rpg) and averages solid 59.3% FGP and 46.2% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Donte McGill (190-G-1995) of Al Nassr Riyadh. He is American guard in his first season at Al Nassr. In the last game McGill recorded an impressive 39 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Al Nassr to another comfortable win outscoring Al Khewaildia (0-3) 96-61. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. McGill is a newcomer at Al Nassr and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 41.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.7rpg and 3.7apg. Former Florida International University star McGill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to another Al Salam's star - guard Donte Clark (194-G-1994). Clark got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . He was another key player of Al Salam, helping his team with a 108-68 easy win against Ohod (#8, 0-2). The chances of Al Salam not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Clark could try to bring Al Salam's a little bit higher in the standings. Clark has individually a great season in Saudi Arabia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 33.0ppg (3rd best).
