Capital lands Taylor Jones

Taylor Jones

The Capital (D1) has signed 26-year-old U.S. Virgin Islands ex-international guard Taylor Jones. Standing at 173cm, she played for Oakland in college. Jones most recently played for Peja 03 in the Kosovan Superliga, where she had impressive averages of 21.6ppg, 8.9rpg, 3.9apg, and 1.7spg in 9 games this season. She has also played for OA Chania in the Greek league.
Three years ago, she represented the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Centrobasket in San Salvador, El Salvador. Her team achieved a silver medal, and her individual statistics for that event were as follows: 4 games played, averaging 13.5 points per game, 5.5 rpg, and 1.8 apg. Her shooting percentages were 41.4% from the field (FGP), 38.9% from three-point range (3PT), and 56.3% from the free-throw line (FT).
She has played professionally in Bosnia (Banovici), Finland (Espoo Team), Greece, Iceland (Fjolnir), Luxembourg (T71 Dudelange), Portugal (CAB Madeira), Puerto Rico (Toa Baja), and Ukraine (Chaika). She is familiar with European, Latin American, and North American leagues thanks to her experience playing in nine different countries on three different continents.
Her team won the Luxembourg League Regular Season in 2023, among many awards. In 2016, she was voted to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team.
She graduated from Oakland University in 2019 and this is her fifth season in professional basketball. She also played for other colleges such as Hutchinson Community College, University of Memphis, and Kentucky State University.
