The Nunawading Spectres (NBL One South) have agreed to terms with Bride Kennedy-Hopoate, a 27-year-old Australian forward who stands at 189cm and was born in 1997. Kennedy-Hopoate previously played for Capital in the Saudi Arabian D1 league. Last summer, she played for the Seahawks in the Australian NBL One South, where she averaged 12.7 points per game, 5.9 rpg, and 1.3 apg in 19 games.
Ten years ago, she represented Australia at the World Championships U17 for Women in the Czech Republic. Her statistics at that event were as follows: 7 games played, averaging 5.4 points per game, 2.9 rpg, a field goal percentage (FGP) of 43.8%, and a free throw percentage (FT) of 76.9%.
Kennedy-Hopoate is a highly experienced player, having played professionally in five different countries across four continents. Her career has taken her to Asia, Australia, Africa, and North America. She has previously played for teams in Saudi Arabia, Syria (Al Thawra), Australia (Pirates, Flames, and Roar), Mozambique (Costa do Sol), and Egypt (El Ward).
Her college team reached the FIBA African Champions Cup final in 2022.
She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2020, and this is her fourth season as a professional player. She also played for other colleges such as Iowa State University and Hutchinson Community College.
