SBL Round 6: Leader Al Fateh gets another victory - Dec 11, 2018

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Undefeated leader Al Fateh delivered the fourth consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Al Nasr (1-3) 82-77 in Riyadh. Al Fateh have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Uhud. Al Nasr at the other side keeps the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Salam. Al Fateh is looking forward to face Al Hilal (#6) in Riyadh in the next round where they are favorite. Al Nasr will play on the road against Al Nahda in Al Khobar and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Al Nahda (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-66 loss to third ranked Al Ahli Jeddah (3-1) in Al Khobar. Al Ahli Jeddah maintains third position with 3-1 record behind leader Al Fateh. Newly promoted Al Nahda still closes the standings with four games lost. Al Ahli Jeddah will play against Al Salam (#8) in Al-Awamiyah in the next round where they are favorite. Al Nahda will play at home against Al Nasr and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Al Ansar (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-63 loss to fourth ranked Al Wehda (2-1) in Mecca on Saturday evening. Al Wehda maintains fourth position with 2-1 record. Loser Al Ansar still closes the standings with three games lost. Al Wehda will meet at home Al Ittihad (#5) in the next round. Al Ansar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Medina Uhud.
The game in Riyadh was also worth to mention about. Top-ranked Uhud (4-0) played at the court of 6th ranked Al Hilal (2-2). Uhud managed to secure a 4-point victory 74-70. Uhud have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Fateh. Al Hilal at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Uhud's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Medina to the arena Al Ansar.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Jeddah. Local Al Ittihad (2-2) outscored 8th ranked Al Salam (1-3) 81-44 on Saturday night. Al Ittihad maintains fifth position with 2-2 record, which they share with Al Hilal. Newly promoted Al Salam dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Al Ittihad will face higher ranked Al Wehda (#4) in Mecca in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Salam will play on the road against Al Ahli Jeddah and hope to win that game.

Al Nahda - Al Ahli Jeddah 66-83

Bottom-ranked Al Nahda (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-66 loss to third ranked Al Ahli Jeddah (3-1) in Al Khobar. Al Ahli Jeddah maintains third position with 3-1 record behind leader Al Fateh. Newly promoted Al Nahda still closes the standings with four games lost. KENNY BROWN Al Morog (D1) landed 27-year old American guard Kenny Brown (188-91, college: Ferris State). He started the season at Al Wehda in Saudi Arabian SBL league. The most of last summer Brown spent at Fast Break (LPB) in Colombian league where in 14 games he averaged impressive 16.9ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.2spg.
