Gary Forbes
GARY FORBES

Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) signed 33-year old Panamanian ex-international small forward Gary Forbes (201-100kg-85, college: Virginia). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Forbes just played at Universitarios in Panamanian LPB league. In 12 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 18.8ppg and averaged 6.4rpg, 2.3apg and 1.4spg (in top 5) this season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Panamanian LPB 2nd Team. Forbes also played for Gymnastikos Larissa-Faros BC in Greek A1 earlier that season where in 6 LPB games he was fifth best scorer with 6.8ppg and had 1.8rpg.
In 2008 Forbes was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (D-League) as #4 pick overall.
The former University of Virginia standoutis in his tenth season in pro basketball.
Forbes has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012. He was a member of Panamanian Senior National Team between 2007 and 2009.
Forbes is quite experienced player. He has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Forbes has played previously professionally in Argentina (Boca Juniors), China (Zhejiang Guangsha Lions), Israel (Ironi Ramat Gan), Italy (Vanoli Cremona), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Manati), Venezuela (Cocodrilos), NBA (Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets), D-League (Springfield A.) and NBA G League (Grand Rapids Drive and Long Island Nets).
He could be described: Very good scorer, with a lightning-quick first pace, who is a great offfensive weapon. Should improve his outside shooting, while his rebounding skills are yet OK. Defensively, he needs to adapt to pro level, now he seems too much foul-prone.
