Defending champion Petrolina AEK Larnaca (Division A) landed 31-year old American guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: East Tennessee State). He played most recently at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia SBL league.
The previous (2015) summer Pigram played at Shahrdari Gorgan (Superleague) in Iran where in 16 games he averaged impressive 23.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.4spg in 2015 season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague 2nd Team.
In 2011 (two years after he left the college) Pigram was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in fifth round (9th overall).
He attended East Tennessee State until 2009 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Pigram's college team won A-Sun Tournament in 2009. He received also All-A-Sun Player of the Year award back in 2007.
Pigram is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Pigram has played previously professionally in China (Heilongjiang), Germany (Braunschweig and s Oliver Baskets), Greece (Ilysiakos), Qatar (Al Arabi), Spain (Andorra) and D-League (Maine Red Claws).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: 'Heart of a Champion' NBA Level scoring combo guard with unbelievable range and a great upside. Has been in several NBA camps and workouts since a (Jr.) in NCAA. Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown invited him in. Was the A-Sun Player of the Yr. as a sophomore. Lead ETSU to the NCAA Tournament. Honored as Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB.

Muharraq - Ittihad 88:73 Bahraini Muharraq recorded the first win at the GCC Cup that start today in Muscat. They overcame Saudi Arabia Ittihad in the opener. Demarius Bolds (193-G-84, college: Missouri Western) stepped up with 29 points to lead the effort. Muharraq eked out a narrow 40:39 halftime lead.
