Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) added to their roster 33-year old American guard Kevin Murphy (197cm-84kg-1990, college: Tenn Tech) for season 2023-24. Murphy played this summer at 3Headed Monsters (Big3) in the U.S. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). First he played at Al Riyadi in Lebanese league where in 11 West Asia Super League games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.5ppg, 4.2rpg and 2.4apg. Murphy helped them to make it to the West Asia Super League Final 8 final. He also played 13 games in Lebanese LBL where he averaged remarkable 20.8ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.6apg. Murphy contributed to his team winning the league title. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com Lebanese League All-Imports Team and Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Second Team.
In 2012 he was drafted by ? Utah Jazz (NBA) in second round (47th overall). The former Tennessee Tech University standout is in his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Murphy's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in thirteen different countries. Murphy has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Muharraq and Bahrain Club), China (Guangsha Lions, Guangxi and Chongqing), Croatia (Cedevita), France, Japan (Hitachi SunRockers Tokyo-Shibuya), Kuwait (Kazma), Philippines (North Port and SM Beermen), Qatar (Al Arabi), Turkey (Gaziantep), UAE, NBA G League (SLC Stars, Grand Rapids Gold and G League Ignite), United Arab Emirates (Shabab Al Ahli) and Libya (Al Morog). He was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-PBA Governor's Cup Honorable Mention in 2023.
