Myanmar - Philippines 40-147
Philippines secured the winning start to their SEABA campaign. The hosts stormed past Myanmar in Manila. Calvin Abueva (190-F-88) provided 22 points for the hosts. Philippines jumped to a 66:12 halftime advantage. They unleashed 81 points after the big break and cruised to the victory. Allein Malicsi (190-F-87) tossed in 20 points for the winners. Aung Wana (180-F-95) delivered 12 points for Myanmar.

Malaysia - Thailand 67-74
Thailand opened win count at the tournament. They beat Malaysia for the first victory. Chitchai Ananti (196-G/F-90) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Malaysia grabbed a 25:15 lead ten minutes into the game. Thailand turned things around in the next periods. They used a 19:8 run in the third frame to gain a 6-point lead. The Thai team dropped 19 points in the fourth term and rallied to the win. Nattakarn Muangboon (186-G-91) posted 12 points in the victory. Wei Hong Choo (197-C-92) responded with 12 points for Malaysia.

Indonesia - Singapore 71-50
Indonesia got to the winning start of their SEABA campaign. They fired past Singapore in the opener. Mario Wuysang (176-PG-79) scored 20 points to lead the winners. Indonesia held their opponents to just 11 points in the first half to take a 40:11 halftime lead. Singapore improved both offensive and defensively in the second half but could not come back from a massive deficit and losing at the end. Christian Setipu (200-C-86) provided 15 points for the winners. Liew Larry-Hua responded with 11 points for Singapore.
