Singapore - Malaysia 61-55
Singapore finished the preliminary round on a high note. They held off Malaysia to improve at 2-2 record. Wei Leon Kwek (188-G-96) stepped up with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Malaysia dominated in the first half. They registered a 33:28 halftime advantage. Malaysia boosted the gap at 6-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. However Singapore responded with an 18:6 rally in the final term and iced the victory. Ng John (190-PG-94) provided 11 points for Singapore. Yoong Jing Kwaan (200-C-90) responded with 19 points for Malaysia.

Thailand - Philippines 65-66
Philippines finished their preliminary round campaign with a narrow win. They nipped Thailand to stay undefeated. Jeth Troy Rosario (201-C-92) finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Gilas secured the FIBA Asia Challenge birth. Thailand led by a single point at the interval 33:32. Philippines eked out a 49:48 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The teams traded baskets throughout the final frame as Philippines escaped with a narrow win at the end. Rey Mark Belo (193-F) delivered 18 points for the winners. Chitchai Ananti (196-G/F-90) responded with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Thai team. Philippines and Thailand will meet again on Saturday in the Final.
