Malaysia - Thailand 66-85
Thailand recorded the second straight win at the home tournament. They cruised past Malaysia to stay perfect. Nakorn Jaisanuk stepped up with 18 points for the Thai team. The hosts used a 24:7 run in the second quarter to secure a 23-point halftime lead. Malaysia narrowed the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the defeat. Lakhan Bandit chipped in 11 points for the winners. Yoong Jing Kwaan (200-C-90) replied with 20 points for Malaysia.

Indonesia - Singapore 40-62
Singapore rallied past Indonesia in the opener in Thailand. Lim Shengyu (192-F/C-90) posted 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. Singapore held their opponents to just 12 points in the first half to build a 24-point halftime lead. Singapore boosted the margin at 30-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Goh Delvin (199-C-95) had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Singapore. A Surliyadin (188-F-90) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds for Indonesia.
