Singapore - Philippines 56-82
Philippines finished the 2015 SEABA Championship undefeated. They knocked down hosting Singapore today to finish at 5-0 record. Marcus Douthit (210-C/F-80, college: Providence) posted 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the winners. Philippines accounted for a 26:19 lead after the opening frame. They extended the gap in the second term. The Gilas used a 25:11 run in the period to open a 51:30 halftime lead. Philippines scored 24 points in the third term to extend the gap and never looked back en route to the victory. Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-G/F-93) had 15 points, while Jiovani Jalalon (175-PG) had 12 points in the win. Wong Wei Long (187-G-88) responded with 17 points for Singapore. Wu Qingde (187-G-92) had 16 points in the loss.

Laos - Malaysia 53-85
Malaysia finished second at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They rolled past Laos for the fourth win at the tournament. Malaysia qualified for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship with the win. Sing Tee Ng (181-G-89) came up with 14 points to pace the winners. Malaysia used a 27:6 run in the opening frame to clear off. They dropped 21 points in the second term to pile up a 48:22 halftime lead. Malaysia maintained the lead throughout the third frame. They entered the fourth stanza up by 29 points and coasted to the victory. Tian Yuan Kuek (200-C-91) and Way Tek Koh (194-F/C-83) netted 11 points each for Malaysia. Phouthong Labouaphieng (180-F-96) responded with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Laos. Siphandone Lothalath tossed in 9 points in the loss.

Brunei - Indonesia 30-81
Indonesia earned the second victory at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They wrapped up their campaign in Singapore beating Brunei. Juan Kokodiputra (194-C/F-95) notched 19 points for the winners. Indonesia dominated from start to finish. They accumulated a 42:8 halftime lead. They added 39 points in the second half and coasted to the victory. Restu Purnomo finished with 14 points, while Luthfianes Gunawan (181-F-89) and Muhamad Wardana (195-C-94) produced 9 points each for the winners. Zainul Ashyraf (196-C-87) had 13 points and 16 rebounds for Brunei. Chee Jean Liew had 6 points in the loss.

Malaysia - Singapore 58-49
Malaysia handed the first defeat to hosting Singapore at the 2015 SEABA Championship. Ivan Yeo (193-F-93) and Tian Yuan Kuek (200-C-91) scored 11 points each and combined for 24 rebounds to lead Malaysia to a crucial third victory at the tournament. Malaysia eked out a 12:11 lead after the opening frame. Singapore pulled ahead in the second quarter. The hosts grabbed a 27:23 halftime advantage. However Malaysia regained the advantage in the third term. They held Singapore to just 9 points in the period and opened a 39:36 advantage at the final break. Malaysia sank 19 points in the fourth quarter and got away with the victory. Wen Keong Tong (180-G-92) and Wei Hong Choo (196-C-92) finished with 10 points each for Malaysia. Low Russel (195-C-93) responded with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Singapore. Wu Qingde (187-G-92) had 8 points in the loss.

Indonesia - Laos 83-46
Indonesia opened win count at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They beat Laos for 1-3 record. Yanuar Dwi Priasmoro (178-SG-89) and Juan Kokodiputra (194-C/F-95) scored 19 points each to pace the winners. Indonesia set the tone early. They triggered a 23:8 run in the opening quarter to clear off. Indonesia unloaded 31 points in the second frame to ensure a 27-point halftime advantage 54:27. Indonesia held their opponents to just 7 points in the third term to register a 37-point lead and marched to the victory at the end. Aziz netted 10 points for the winners. Siphandone Lothalath responded with 14 points for Laos. Thavatsay Phongphoumy had 11 points in the defeat.

Philippines - Brunei 140-29
Brunei suffered the fourth consecutive defeat at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They surrendered against Philippines to remain at the bottom of the ladder. Seven players scored in double figures for Philippines en route to the fourth consecutive win. Bobby Ray Parks (193-G-92) came up with 19 points to lead the charge. Philippines unleashed 68 points in the first half to open a massive 52-point lead. Philippines followed with a 37:3 run in the third quarter to boost the gap. They held Brunei to 10 points in the fourth quarter and eased to the victory. Kevin Ferrer (194-F-93) and Russel Escoto (198-F/C-92) delivered 18 points each for the winners. Wei Ming Ching responded with 9 points for Brunei. Zainul Ashyraf (196-C-87) had 8 points in the loss.

Singapore - Indonesia 76-41
Singapore registered the third straight victory at the 2015 SEABA Championship. The hosts bruised Indonesia to stay undefeated. Wu Qingde (187-G-92) scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to pace the winners. Singapore set the tone in the opening quarter. They went on a strong 30:11 rally to clear off. The hosts stretched the gap at 27-point mark at the interval 49:22. Singapore limited Indonesia to just 7 points in the third quarter and cleared off for good. Ng Hanbin (192-G/F-89) finished with 13 points, while Desmond Oh (178-SG-86) added 12 points for the home team. Respati Pamungkas (180-G-91) responded with 15 points for Indonesia. Yanuar Dwi Priasmoro (178-SG-89) had 9 points in the loss.

Philippines - Malaysia 104-42
Philippines registered the third consecutive victory at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They knocked down Malaysia to stay perfect. Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-G/F-93) accounted for 15 points in the victory. Philippines grabbed a 23:14 lead ten minutes into the game. The Gilas shifted the gear in the second period. They cleared off to a 57:29 halftime lead. Philippines ignited a 22:6 run in the third term to boost their lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Rey Mark Belo and Russel Escoto (198-F/C-92) had 14 points each for the winners. Way Tek Koh (194-F/C-83) responded with 11 points for Malaysia. Wen Keong Tong (180-G-92) had 6 points in the loss.

Laos - Brunei 75-62
Laos opened win count at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They knocked down Brunei for 1-2 record. Siphandone Lothalath came up with 35 points to pace the winners. Laos eked out a 24:17 lead after the opening frame. Brunei narrowed the gap in the second frame. They pulled within 4 points at the interval. But Laos stiffened defensively in the second half. They held Brunei to 28 points in the second part of the game and snatched a tough victory at the end. Thavatsay Phongphoumy provided 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Khonesavanh Lattana added 10 points in the victory. Chin Kai Khoo responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Brunei. Zainul Ashyraf (196-C-87) accounted for 17 points and 21 rebounds in the loss.

Philippines secured the second win at the start of the 2015 SEABA Championship. They knocked down Laos today. Bobby Ray Parks (193-G-92) came up with 15 points to pace the Smart Gilas. Philippines jumped to a 26:7 lead after the opening quarter. They extended the gap at 31-point mark at the interval 50:19. Philippines never slowed down in the second half. They poured in 42 points and cruised to the win. Almond Vosotros (175-PG) had 13 points, while Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-G/F-93) chipped in 11 points for Philippines. Respati Pamungkas (180-G-91) answered with 12 points for Laos. Juan Kokodiputra (194-C/F-95) had 9 points in the loss.

Brunei - Singapore 26-74
Singapore registered the second consecutive victory in the 2015 SEABA Championship. The hosts took care of Brunei to stay undefeated. Lim Kelvin accounted for 13 points to pace the hosts. It was a one-way traffic from start to finish. Singapore held Brunei to just 11 points in the first half building a 40:11 halftime lead. The margin grew at 34-point mark at the final intermission and Singapore cruised to the victory in the final period. Low Russel (195-C-93) and Goh Delvin (199-C-95) netted 12 points each for the winners. Zainul Ashyraf (196-C-87) had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Brunei.

Malaysia - Indonesia 59-36
Malaysia secured the second consecutive victory at the start of the 2015 SEABA Championship. They beat Indonesia to stay perfect in Singapore. Tian Yuan Kuek (200-C-91) nailed 16 points for the winners. Malaysia raced to a 15:12 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the advantage in the second term. Malaysia built a 26:19 halftime advantage. The margin grew at 17-point mark at the final intermission. Malaysia limited their opponents to just 8 points in the fourth frame and marched to an important victory. Ivan Yeo (193-F-93) had 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Vincent Choong had 8 points in the win. Respati Pamungkas responded with 18 points for Indonesia. Restu Purnomo had 6 points in the loss.


11th SEABA Men's Basketball Championship to be held in Singapore - Apr 17, 2015

he 11th SEABA Men's Basketball Championship will be hosted in Singapore from 27th April - 1st May 2015 at the OCBC Arena. This will be the first time Singapore has hosted the Men's SEABA Championship. The tournament will feature the Men's National Teams from the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brueni, Laos & Singapore. The SEABA Championships also acts as a qualifying tournament for the 2015 ASIAN Basketball Championship to be held in China in September 2015. Get along to the OCBC Arena at the Singapore Sportshub to cheer on Slingers players Wong Wei Long, Russel Low, Ng Han Bin, Desmond Oh, Delvin Goh, Tan Chin Hong, Larry Liew, Wu Qingde and the rest of the Singapore Men's National team in their build up for the 28th SEA Games. Entry to the SEABA Championships is Free so get along to OCBC Arena between the 27th April - 1st May and support the Singapore Men's National Team.
