Philippines - Malaysia 76-67

Gilas Pilipinas Women opened their SEA Games 2025 campaign with a strong fourth-quarter rally to defeat Malaysia 76–67 on Saturday at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok. Behind a dominant double-double from Kacey dela Rosa, who finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, and an all-around effort from Sophia Dignadice with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists, the Philippines pulled away late to secure the win. Louna Ozar (172-SF-2004) added 13 points and an impressive six steals as Gilas showed resilience to take control in the final period. The Filipinas will look to sweep Group B against Singapore to earn an automatic semifinal berth, with the remaining teams heading to the qualification round.
