AJ English (ex Zamalek) is a newcomer at Al Arabi

Defending champion Al Arabi Club Doha (QBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 33-year-old American guard AJ English (192cm-86kg-1992, college: Iona). He just played at Zamalek in the Egyptian Superleague. In 6 games, he recorded very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.5apg, and 1.2spg this season. He also played for Beirut Club (DLBL) in the Lebanese league.

English attempted to make it to the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He is a highly experienced player. Thanks to English's professional career, he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America) in eleven different countries

. English has played professionally in Dominican Republic (San Lazaro), France (Limoges CSP Elite), Germany (MBC and Skyliners), Greece (Lavrio), Iraq (Al Shurtah, Al-Hashd, and Dijlah), Italy, Lebanon (Hoops), Lithuania (Mazeikiai), Poland (Zastal, Legia, and HydroTruck), Venezuela (Gaiteros), and The Basketball Tournament (Gael Nation, Program for Autism, and Elite Nation). His team made it to the Dubai International Tournament Semifinals in 2026.

In 2025, he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Honorable Mention among many awards.
He graduated from Iona College in 2016 and is currently in his tenth season as a professional player.
