Al Rayyan and Al Arabi secured their spots in the semifinals of the 2025–2026 Emir Cup Basketball Championship after defeating Al Gharafa and Qatar Club respectively on Sunday evening at Al Gharafa Arena, concluding the quarterfinal stage.

The final day of quarterfinal action showcased high-level performances, reflecting the readiness of all four teams. Despite the balanced individual and collective levels, Al Rayyan and Al Arabi demonstrated superior control in decisive moments.

Al Rayyan vs. Al Gharafa

Al Rayyan delivered a powerful offensive display to overcome Al Gharafa 104–82 in a fast-paced contest marked by alternating control across the four quarters.

First Quarter: Al Rayyan dominated early, finishing 33–21, capitalizing on offensive efficiency and quick transitions.

Second Quarter: Al Gharafa responded with a more balanced performance, winning 24–20, narrowing the gap as Al Rayyan’s defensive focus dipped.

Third Quarter: Al Rayyan regained momentum, taking the quarter 26–22 to re-establish control.

Fourth Quarter: Al Rayyan sealed the win with a 25–15 advantage, confirming their deserved passage to the semifinals.

Individually, Malik Romero Carey stole the spotlight with 44 points for Al Rayyan, while Devin Morris Ebanks led Al Gharafa with 41 points in a game that highlighted standout performances from both sides.

Al Arabi vs. Qatar Club


Al Arabi continued their strong run, defeating Qatar Club 104–73 to complete the semifinal lineup and reinforce their status as a top contender for the title.

First Quarter: Al Arabi led 21–17, showing early organization.

Second Quarter: They extended control with a 31–22 margin, leveraging defensive strength and swift offensive transitions.

Third Quarter: Al Arabi maintained their lead at 24–17.

Fourth Quarter: They closed out with a 28–17 finish, securing a comfortable victory.

Joshua Morris Nicholas of Qatar Club was the game’s top scorer with 31 points, while Abdulrahman Yahya led Al Arabi with 20 points.

Quarterfinal Recap

The quarterfinals began with Al Ahli defeating Al Wakrah 85–72, followed by Al Sadd’s 107–96 win over Al Shamal. With Al Rayyan and Al Arabi joining them, the semifinal bracket is now complete.

Al Sadd vs. Al Rayyan: Monday, May 4, 2026 at 8:00 PM

Both matches will be held at Al Gharafa Arena and are expected to deliver intense competition for a place in the final.

The championship concludes on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with the final scheduled for 6:30 PM at Al Gharafa Arena.
