Al Rayyan - Al Ahli D. 93-69

Al Rayyan outrebounded Al Ahli 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Al Rayyan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Rion Brown (198, college: Miami, FL) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Malik Curry (185-1999, college: WVU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 assists and 4 steals. Al Rayyan's coach Stathis Nerantzakis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Nigel Johnson (187-1995, college: Virginia, agency: 6th Man Basketball Agency) produced 26 points and 5 assists and power forward Raekwon Rogers (203-1999, college: Wagner, agency: One Motive Sports) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Al Rayyan and four Al Ahli players scored in double figures.

Worth to mention a great performance of Bahrain point guard Mustafa Ali (177-2002) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international swingman Abdulrahman Saad (185-1996) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Malik Toppin (206-1997, college: Salem) added 19 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Al Sadd. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures.
