Dieng number one in Qatar QBL for round 18

Former international Swingman Ousmanediatta Dieng (196-G/F-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Al Arabi Club Doha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, nine rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Al Khor (#9, 1-15) 119-108. Al Arabi maintains the 2nd position in Qatari QBL. They are still close to the very top. Al Arabi would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 14-2 record. In the team's last game Dieng had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He has many years of experience at Al Arabi, through which he has constantly improved. Ousmanediatta Dieng averages this season 14.1ppg and 6.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was Oussama Abdenacer of Al Shamal Doha. Abdenacer had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Al Shamal to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Khor (#9, 1-15) 108-82. Al Shamal's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-9 record. Abdenacer is well-known at Al Shamal and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was Italian guard Lazar Trunic (198-SG-2000) of Al Khor (#9). Trunic got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and nine assists. Despite Trunic's great performance the Al Khor lost 108-119 to the higher-ranked Al Arabi (#2, 14-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Khor can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-15 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Trunic has individually a great season in Qatar. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 8.4rpg (9th best).
