Zarzuela's 48-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

COL-DOMn Point guard Jesse Zarzuela (188-PG) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al Gharafa Doha and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 48 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Al Gharafa in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Al Khor (#9, 1-13) 122-119. Al Gharafa maintains the 7th position in Qatari league. Al Gharafa is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-11 record. In the team's last game Zarzuela had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Al Gharafa's top player in his first season with the team. Jesse Zarzuela averages this season 22.8ppg and 4.3apg.

Second best performed player last round was Jesse Jones (183-PG) of Al Khor. He is American guard in his first season at Al Khor. In the last game Jones recorded an impressive 50 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Al Khor was edged by slightly higher-ranked Al Gharafa (#7, 5-11) 122-119. Al Khor are still at the very bottom. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Al Khor managed to get this year. Jones is a newcomer at Al Khor and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 34.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.4rpg and 5.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Terrence Thompson (203-F-1994) of Qatar Sports Club Doha (#8). Thompson scored 23 points and grabbed 24 rebounds (!!!). Despite Thompson's great performance the Qatar Club lost 72-97 to the higher-ranked Al Rayyan (#1, 14-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Qatar Club can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Thompson has individually a great season in Qatar. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.1rpg (#1 in league).
