Talented International Forward Mohammed Abbasher (198-F-2004) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al Ahli Sports Club Doha and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 21-year old forward had a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Al Sadd (10-5) 79-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Ahli is placed at 3rd position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Ahli will need more victories to improve their 10-5 record. In the team's last game Abbasher had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Al Ahli, through which he has constantly improved. Abbasher has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 73.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Aaron Mitchell (188-G-1989) of Al Wakrah. Mitchell impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Wakrah was edged by slightly lower-ranked Al Shamal (#6, 6-9) 80-76. Al Wakrah managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Mitchell is one of the most experienced players at Al Wakrah and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Malik Toppin (206-C-1997) of Al Sadd Sports Club Doha (#4). Toppin scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Toppin's great performance the Al Sadd lost 65-79 to #3 ranked Al Ahli D.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Al Sadd needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 5 lost games. Toppin has a great season in Qatar. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.8ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.2rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.0bpg and a FGP of 71.0%. Toppin attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
