American Center Malik Toppin (206-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al Sadd Sports Club Doha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Qatar Club (#8, 2-12) with 18-point margin 112-94. Al Sadd maintains the 3rd position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Sadd will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. In the team's last game Toppin had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Sadd's top player in his first season with the team. Former Salem University star has very solid stats this year. Toppin is in league's top in points (8th best: 22.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.2rpg) and averages impressive 1.8bpg and 74.2% FGP. Worth to mention Toppin played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was another Al Sadd's star - young American Steven Green (196-G-1993). Green had a very good evening with a triple-double of 31 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists. Of course together with Toppin he helped Al Sadd Sports Club Doha with another comfortable win 112-94 over the lower-ranked Qatar Club (#8, 2-12) being unquestionably team leader. Al Sadd's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 10-4 record is not bad at all. Green is a newcomer at Al Sadd, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 8.0rpg and 5.7apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Mohammed Abbasher (198-F-2004) of Al Ahli Sports Club Doha (#4). Abbasher scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of Al Ahli, leading his team to a 109-100 win against the lower-ranked Al Gharafa (#7, 4-10). Al Ahli needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Abbasher has a great season in Qatar. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.3rpg (9th best).
