American Center Malik Toppin (206-C-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al Sadd Sports Club Doha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Al Khor (#9, 1-9) 101-91. Al Sadd maintains the 3rd position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Sadd will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. Toppin turned to be Al Sadd's top player in his first season with the team. Former Salem University star has very solid stats this year. Toppin is in league's top in points (7th best: 22.6ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.4rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 75.0% FGP. Worth to mention Toppin played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Aaron Mitchell (188-G-1989) of Al Wakrah. Mitchell had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Al Wakrah to another comfortable win 98-85 over the lower-ranked Al Gharafa (#8, 2-9) being unquestionably team leader. Al Wakrah's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mitchell is one of the most experienced players at Al Wakrah and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Raekwon Rogers (203-C/F-1999, agency: One Motive Sports) of Al Ahli Sports Club Doha (#4). Rogers got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for fifteen rebounds . He was a key player of Al Ahli, leading his team to a 98-83 easy win against the lower-ranked Qatar Club (#7, 2-9). Al Ahli needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Rogers has a great season in Qatar. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.1ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 9.7rpg (7th best). Rogers attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
