American Malik Toppin (206-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al Sadd Sports Club Doha and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Al Gharafa (#7, 2-7) with 21-point margin 98-77. Al Sadd maintains the 3rd position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Sadd will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. Toppin turned to be Al Sadd's top player in his first season with the team. Malik Toppin averages just after three games 19.0ppg and 8.7rpg. Worth to mention Toppin played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Josh Hall (206-F-2000) of Al Gharafa Doha. Hall impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Gharafa lost that game 77-98 to the higher-ranked Al Sadd (#3, 6-3). Al Gharafa is still second from the bottom in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Al Gharafa managed to get this year. Hall is a newcomer at Al Gharafa and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. alumni Hall played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Shane Rector (188-G-1994) of Al Shamal Doha (#6). Rector scored 26 points and passed 6 assists. He was a key player of Al Shamal, leading his team to a 104-79 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Qatar Club (#8, 2-8). Al Shamal needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Rector has a great season in Qatar. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.9ppg (2nd best) and assists with 5.5apg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Malik Curry (185-G-1999) of Al Rayyan - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Aaron Mitchell (188-G-1989) of Al Wakrah - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Taylor Adway (205-C-1996) of Al Ahli D. - 23 points and 7 rebounds
7. Nigel Johnson (187-G-1995) of Al Ahli D. - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
