American-Haitian Forward Wes Alcegaire (198-F-1994, agency: BIG) had a great game in the last round for Al Wakrah, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, nine rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Al Arabi (#2, 6-1) with 18-point margin 106-88. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Wakrah maintains the 4th position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Wakrah will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Alcegaire had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Al Wakrah's top player in his first season with the team. Former Bowling Green State University star has very solid stats this year. Alcegaire is in league's top in points (6th best: 23.8ppg) and averages impressive 61.0% FGP and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Josh Nicholas (190-G-1998) of Qatar Sports Club Doha. Nicholas had a very good evening with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course Qatar Club cruised to a 111-99 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Al Gharafa (#7, 2-6). Despite this victory they still are the league outsider. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Qatar Club managed to get this year. Nicholas is a newcomer at Qatar Club, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.4ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 5.3rpg and 4.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jesse Jones (183-PG) of Al Khor (#8). Jones got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and five assists. Despite Jones' great performance the Al Khor lost 94-118 to slightly higher-ranked Al Ahli D. (#6, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Khor can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Jones has individually a great season in Qatar. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 34.4ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.6apg (7th best). He also has 2.1spg and a FGP of 64.2%.

4. Malik Toppin (206-C-1997) of Al Sadd - 22 points and 14 rebounds
5. Nigel Johnson (187-G-1995) of Al Ahli D. - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
