American Guard Shane Rector (188-G-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al Shamal Doha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, three rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Qatar Club (#9, 0-6) with 25-point margin 105-80. Al Shamal is placed at 3rd position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Al Shamal will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Rector had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Al Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. Former Utah State University star has very solid stats this year. Rector is in league's top in points (2nd best: 31.3ppg), assists (3rd best: 6.5apg) and averages impressive 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young international point guard Ahmed Fouda (174-PG-1997) of Al Khor. Fouda had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Khor lost that game 81-86 to the higher-ranked Al Wakrah (#5, 4-2). Al Khor managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Fouda is a newcomer at Al Khor, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Malik Curry (185-G-1999) of league's second-best Al Rayyan Doha. Curry showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Al Rayyan, leading his team to a 106-90 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Gharafa (#7, 2-4). Al Rayyan started extremely well this year. They recorded 5 victories without losing a single game. Curry turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Curry has a great season in Qatar. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 8.0apg (best passer).
