31-year old American guard Shane Rector (188-G-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Al Shamal Doha and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 45 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Al Shamal in his team's victory, helping them to beat Al Gharafa (#8, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 124-116. Al Shamal is placed at 2nd position in Qatari league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Al Shamal won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Rector had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Al Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. Utah State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rector is league's best scorer averaging so far 36.5ppg. Rector is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 7.0apg) and averages solid 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Tyree Crump (185-G-1997, agency: BIG). He is American guard in his first season at Al Shamal. In the last game Crump recorded an impressive 33 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Al Shamal Doha cruised to a 124-116 relatively comfortable win over Al Gharafa (0-2). His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Crump is a newcomer at Al Shamal and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 5.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Mustafa Ali (177-PG-2002, agency: Allstars Agency) of Al Arabi Club Doha (#3). Ali got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Al Arabi, leading his team to a 103-84 easy win against #4 ranked Al Sadd in a game of the week. Al Arabi has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Ali also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Ali as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Wes Alcegaire (198-F-1994) of Al Wakrah - 26 points and 8 rebounds
