Al Sadd signs Archie Goodwin, ex Jiangsu D.

Archie Goodwin

Al Sadd Sports Club Doha (QBL) signed 30-year old American guard Archie Goodwin (196cm-90kg-1994, college: Kentucky). He started the season at Jiangsu Nangang Dragons Nanjing in Chinese CBA league. In 43 games he had very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 4.7apg and 1.7spg. He was also named League Player of the Week. The last season summer he played at El Calor de Cancun (LNBP) in Mexican league.
In 2013 he was drafted by Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) in first round (29th overall). The former University of Kentucky standout is in his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Goodwin is quite experienced player. He has played in twelve different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Goodwin has played previously professionally in France (Metropolitans), Germany (ratiopharm Ulm), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Lebanon (Beirut Club), Mexico, Puerto Rico (Santeros), Turkey (Bakirkoy), Ukraine (Budivelnyk), NBA (Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns), NBA G League (NAZ Suns, Maine Celtics and Greensboro Swarm) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete, Team Challenge ALS and Eberlein Drive).
Among many awards Goodwin's team made it to the The Basketball Tournament Semifinals in 2024. He was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game back in 2020.
