Al Arabi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Al Sadd's 32. They outrebounded Al Sadd 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American swingman Osiris Eldridge (191-1988, college: Illinois St.) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. International forward Babacar Dieng (196-1997) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Skyler Flatten (198-1995, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Slash Sports) added 22 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts.

Al Rayyan outrebounded Al Ahli 41-21 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. International center Tyler Harris (208-1993, college: Auburn) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) contributed with 28 points for the winners. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. Al Rayyan's coach Stathis Nerantzakis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Raekwon Rogers (203-1999, college: Wagner, agency: One Motive Sports) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Mohammed Abbasher (198-2004) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Al Ahli.
