Al Rayyan smashed Al Gharafa in Doha 122-85. Al Rayyan dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Al Gharafa's 40. Al Rayyan forced 20 Al Gharafa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Tyler Harris (208-1993, college: Auburn) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Bulgarian-American point guard Dee Bost (189-1989, college: MSU) contributed with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Al Rayyan's coach Stathis Nerantzakis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard JaCor Nelson (195-1999, college: Central Mo.) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for Al Gharafa. Al Gharafa will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Al Rayyan will try to continue on its current victory against Al Ahli. In the last two games of round 3 Al Sadd beat Al Khor on the road 72-66. Al Ahli destroyed Al Wakrah on its own court 97-68.
