American Guard Patrick McGlynn (188-G-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Al Gharafa Doha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (39 points, four rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Al Sadd (#7, 5-9) 98-96. Al Gharafa is placed at 4th position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Gharafa will need more victories to improve their 8-6 record. In the team's last game McGlynn had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Al Gharafa's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Rhode Island star has very solid stats this year. McGlynn is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.4ppg) and averages impressive 54.8% FGP and 49.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nigerian Kelechi Ajukwa (201-G-1995) of Al Sadd Sports Club Doha. Ajukwa had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Al Sadd to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Al Khor (#9, 2-12) 90-70. Al Sadd's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Ajukwa is a newcomer at Al Sadd, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Al Sadd's star - American Darryl Owens. Owens got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and five assists. Despite Owens' great performance the Al Sadd Sports Club Doha lost 96-98 to the higher-ranked Al Gharafa (#4, 8-6). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Al Sadd not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Owens could try to bring Al Sadd's a little bit higher in the standings. Owens has individually a great season in Qatar. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.8ppg (9th best) and assists with 4.6apg (7th best).
