Sindou Diallo gets MVP of the Week award for Qatari QBL

American Sindou Diallo (194-G-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Qatar Sports Club Doha and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 34 points adding three rebounds and three assists for Qatar Club in his team's victory, helping them to crush Al Khor (#9, 1-7) with 22-point margin 99-77. Qatar Club maintains the 4th position in Qatari QBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Qatar Club will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Diallo had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Qatar Club's top player in his first season with the team. Montana Technological University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Diallo is in league's top in points (9th best: 19.3ppg) and averages solid 62.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Senegalese power forward Mouhammad Faye (207-F/C-1985) of Al Rayyan Doha. Faye impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Al Rayyan to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Sadd (#7, 2-6) 89-62. Al Rayyan's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Faye is a newcomer at Al Rayyan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Greek Stavros Toutziarakis (210-C-1987) of second-ranked Al Ahli Sports Club Doha. Toutziarakis scored 18 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Al Ahli, leading his team to a 92-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Wakrah (#6, 4-4). Al Ahli needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Toutziarakis has a great season in Qatar. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (3rd best).
