Karim York (ex Freseras) signs at Al Gharafa

Karim York

Al Gharafa Doha (QBL) has signed American forward Karim York (college: PVAMU) for the upcoming season. York, who stands at 206cm, most recently played for Freseras in the Mexican LNBP. In his last 8 games, he averaged 9.1ppg and 3.9rpg. Prior to that, he played for Wydad AC Casablanca (D1) in the Moroccan league.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in six different countries across three continents thanks to his career in professional basketball. He's well-versed in the Asian, African, and North American leagues. In the past, he has played professionally in Bahrain (Sitra), Morocco, Oman (Nizwa and Al Bashaer), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), and Thailand (PEA). In 2023, his team achieved the impressive feat of being the regular season runner-up in the Moroccan League Group A.
Despite his young age, he had an impressive career. He was voted to the Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Honorable Mention back in 2018.
He attended Prairie View A&M University until 2016, and this will be his eighth season in professional basketball. He also played for Santa Clara University for one year.
