Al Wakrah (QBL) has strengthened their roster by adding experienced 34-year-old American guard Aaron Mitchell (188cm-86kg-1989, college: Longwood). Mitchell was the second-highest scorer at Al Gharafa last season, where he recorded impressive stats in 19 QBL games in Qatar: 20.7ppg, 6.2rpg, 4.3apg, and 1.8spg. He played a key role in helping Al Gharafa reach the Qatari League final after finishing the regular season as the second-best team. Mitchell's performance earned him a spot on the Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 2nd Team. In the previous season (2020-21), he played for Al Kahraba in the Iraqi league.

He is a highly experienced player, having played professionally on four continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America) in eight different countries. He has previously played for Al-Tadamoun in Iraq, Bashkimi in Kosovo, KK Centar Bijelo Polje and Teodo in Montenegro, Nizwa in Oman, Dalia Sport Grombalia in Tunisia, Sareyet in Palestine, and Richmond E. in the ABA.

The list of past achievements is extensive. In 2020, he won the Qatari League championship title and was selected as the Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Guard of the Year.

He graduated from Longwood College in 2011, and this upcoming season will mark his 13th as a professional player.

Hopefully, it will be a lucky one!
The scouts describe him in the following way:

Aaron Mitchell is known for his dedication both on and off the court.
Big and strong performer, known for his scoring ability and tremendous drive to the basket.
He has excellent athletic ability, especially as a left-handed player, which makes it challenging to guard him. Additionally, his exceptional ability to assist enhances the performance of his teammates.
