Al Shamal - Al Sadd 72-80

Al Sadd players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American-German forward Waverly Austin (211-1991, college: Oregon, agency: Diamond Sports) notched a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and American Vander Blue (196-1992, college: Marquette) supported him with 25 points and 4 assists. Even a triple-double of 17 points, 18 rebounds and 18 assists by Egyptian power forward Moustafa Elmekawi (204-1994) did not help to save the game for Al Shamal. Palestinian-Canadian forward Shane Osayande (200-1993, college: Saskatchewan) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the hosts. Four Al Shamal players scored in double figures.

Qatar Club dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Al Rayyan's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. American guard Holland Woods II (184-1999, college: GCU, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest.
