Al Arabi - Qatar Club 99-103 Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Qatar Club (#4) and Al Arabi (#4). Al Arabi was defeated at home 99-103 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Qatar Club made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) nailed a triple-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 12 assists and 9 steals for the winning side and Serbian Dejan Janjic (198-1995) accounted for 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists. American-Nigerian guard Kelechi Ajukwa (201-1995, college: Charlotte) came up with 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and American Xavier Ford (203-1993, college: Buffalo) added 29 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals respectively for Al Arabi in the defeat. Al Arabi's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Qatar Club have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Sadd. Loser Al Arabi dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Palestinian-Canadian forward Shane Osayande (200-1993, college: Saskatchewan) nailed a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side and American guard Sindou Diallo (190, college: Montana Tech) accounted for 20 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Al Wakrah's 36. They outrebounded Al Wakrah 45-22 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Al Wakrah's players. American-German forward Waverly Austin (211-1991, college: Oregon, agency: Diamond Sports) nailed a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds, 18 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and international forward Babacar Dieng (197-1997) accounted for 28 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 47 assists comparing to just 31 passes made by Al Arabi's players.
