Franklin Session II gets MVP of the Week award for Qatari D1 (by Interperformances)

Experienced American Franklin Session II (187-G-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Al Gharafa and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old guard had the game-high 42 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Al Gharafa in his team's victory, helping them to beat Al Wakrah (#4, 8-4) 97-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Gharafa to consolidate first place in the Qatari D1. Al Gharafa has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Session II had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 13 attempts. He turned to be Al Gharafa's top player in his first season with the team. California State University Los Angeles graduate has very impressive stats this year. Session II is in league's top in points (6th best: 24.8ppg), assists (2nd best: 6.2apg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 58.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old former international swingman Khalid Suliman Abdi (198-G/F-87) of second-ranked Al Arabi. Suliman Abdi impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Al Arabi cruised to a 98-87 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Al Sadd (#5, 7-4). Al Arabi's second position in the standings has not changed. His team belongs to top of the standings with 10-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Suliman Abdi is one of the most experienced players at Al Arabi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Nigerian Michael Efevberha (195-G-84) of Al Rayyan (#9). Efevberha got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of Al Rayyan, leading his team to a 101-63 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Qatar Club (#7, 2-10). Al Rayyan can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-11 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Efevberha has a very solid season. In 2 games in Qatar he scored 27.5ppg.

5. Ater Majok (208-C-87) of Al Arabi - 18 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Rohndell Goodwin (195-G-91) of Al Ahli - 31 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Abdelrahman Abdelhaleem (205-F-96) of Al Wakrah - 25 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Fotios Lampropoulos (206-PF-83) of Al Sadd - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Meho Haracic (213-C-98) of Al Rayyan - 26 points and 14 rebounds
10. Nedim Muslic (197-F-98) of Al Gharafa - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
