Defending champion Al Shamal Doha (D1) landed experienced 35-year old Nigerian ex-international guard Michael Efevberha (195-93kg-84, college: CSUN). He played recently at Al Riyadi in the Lebanese LBL league. Efevberha also played for JA Vichy (ProB) in French league where in 7 LBL games he averaged 14.7ppg, 3.3rpg, and 2.1apg this season. The other team he played shortly was Champville (also in LBL). In 7 games he had 14.6ppg, 3.3rpg, and 2.0apg.

In 2006 Efevberha was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in the first round (112th overall).

He attended California State University Northridge and it is his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.

Among many awards, Efevberha won the Swiss LNA championship title in 2010, 2011 and 2017. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Swiss LNA Guard of the Year award back in 2011.

Efevberha played at the WABA Club Championships three years ago.

He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Efevberha experienced life in ten different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Australian and of course North American leagues. Efevberha has played previously professionally in China (Blue Whales, Xinjiang FT, and Chongqing), Dominican Rep., Israel (Bnei Hasharon), Korea (LG Sakers and Anyang KGC), New Zealand (Saints), Russia (Spartak Primorie Vladivostok), France (Cholet Basket), Switzerland (Monthey), Lebanon (Beirut Club, Sagesse and Homentmen) and Czech Republic (ERA Nymburk).
