Shawn Taggart (ex Metros STGO) agreed terms with Al Wakrah

SHAWN TAGGART

Al Wakrah (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American forward Shawn Taggart (207-104kg-85, college: Memphis). He played in the summer at Metros de Santiago in LNB league in Dominican Republic, but left. In three games he recorded 4.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.0bpg in 2017 season. in summer 2017 Taggart played at Rain or Shine (PBA) in Filipino league where in 8 games he averaged impressive 26.1ppg, 11.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5bpg.
In 2012 (three years after he left the college) Taggart was drafted by Springfield Armor (D-League) in fifth round (78th overall).
The former University of Memphis star is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements his team won Qatari Emir Cup in 2015. Taggart received also Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Forward of the Year award back in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Taggart's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in eight different countries. Taggart has played previously professionally in China (Heilongjiang), Israel (Galil Gilboa), Spain, Turkey, Ukraine (Dnipro), Philippines (Global Port), NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors) and D-League (Springfield A.).
