Al Shamal - Al Arabi 80-77

Al Shamal celebrated D1 title. They overcame Al Arabi in the title clash tonight. Al Arabi was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Algerian forward Mohamed Harath (198-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Georgian point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) chipped in 12 points and 8 assists. Four Al Shamal players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 22 rebounds and American-Iraqi point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws).

Qatar Club - Al Sadd 92-85

Qatar Club defeated Al Sadd to clinch D1 Bronze medals. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Sadd won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qatar Sports Club made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Toney McCray (196-89, college: Nebraska) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: Oklahoma St.) accounted for 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and international point guard Moustafa-Essam Fouda (174-97) added 26 points and 4 assists respectively for Al Sadd in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
