DAQUAN BROOKS

American Point guard DaQuan Brooks (177-PG-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al Wakrah, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 28-year old player got a double-double of 25 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Al Sadd (#2, 11-3) 83-72. Al Wakrah maintains the 5th position in Qatari D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Wakrah will need more victories to improve their 8-6 record. In the team's last game Brooks had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Al Wakrah, being already a very valuable addition to the team. DaQuan Brooks averages this season 23.6ppg, 6.4rpg and 7.0apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Nick Stover (198-F-93) of Al Gharafa. Stover had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Gharafa lost that game 67-82 to the higher-ranked Al Shamal (#1, 12-2). Al Gharafa managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Stover is a newcomer at Al Gharafa, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.2ppg (#5). He also registered 9.4 boards per game. Former University of South Alabama star Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina forward Miroslav Todic (205-F/C-85) of league's second-best Al Sadd. Todic showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. Despite Todic's great performance Al Sadd lost 72-83 to the lower-ranked Al Wakrah (#5, 8-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Al Sadd needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 3 lost games. Todic has a great season in Qatar. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.9rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kevin Galloway (200-PG-88) of Al Arabi - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists
5. Franklin Session (187-G-89) of Al Gharafa - 24 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Ameer Jackson (193-PG-94) of Al Khor - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Aladji Bobo Magassa) of Al Khor - 20 points and 12 rebounds
8. Mohamed Harath (198-F-90) of Al Shamal - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Lenny Daniel (203-PF-87) of Al Rayyan - 14 points and 13 rebounds
10. Kevin Bracy-Davis (201-G-95) of Qatar Club - 29 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
