MOHAMED HARATH

Algerian Forward Mohamed Harath (198-F-90) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Al Shamal, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Al Rayyan (#9, 0-9), the league's bottom-ranked team 86-74. It allowed Al Shamal to take over top position in the Qatari D1. Al Shamal have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Harath had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. Mohamed Harath has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 26.8ppg and leads league in rebounds with 18.8rpg. Harath is in league's top in and averages impressive 51.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Senegalese Oumar Seck (208-C-88) of Al Arabi. Seck had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Al Arabi to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Al Gharafa (#6, 4-5) 87-66. Al Arabi's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Seck is well-known at Al Arabi and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#8). He also registered 11.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Ameer Jackson (193-PG-94) of Al Khor (#8). Jackson got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and eight assists. Despite Jackson's great performance Al Khor lost 74-92 to the higher-ranked Qatar Club (#3, 7-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Khor can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jackson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jackson has individually a great season in Qatar. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.9ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 10.3rpg (8th best) and assists with 6.0apg (6th best). He also has 2.6spg and FGP: 59.5%.
