Al Wakrah (D1) inked 28-year old American point guard DaQuan Brooks (177-90, college: W.Connecticut). He started the season at Al Ansar in Saudi Arabian SBL league. The last season Brooks played at Al Nasr in Libyan league. He helped them to win the league title and they also made it to the Cup final. A very good season in his career as he was awarded All-Libyan League Finals MVP, selected to 1st Team and selected to All-Imports Team.
Brooks received NABC Division III All-Northeast Region Player of the Year award back in 2012 at his college time.
Brooks has played also professionally in Canada (Moncton Miracles, Orangeville A's and Highlanders), NBA G League (Maine Red Claws) and NAPB (Vancouver Knights).
He attended Western Connecticut State University until 2012 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.

Al Rayyan Doha (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 20-year old naturalized Bosnian center Meho Haracic (213-104kg-98). It is actually his comeback to Doha as he has played here before. Haracic started the season at BK Jekabpils in Latvian LatEstBL. In 9 games he recorded 4.1ppg and 1.2rpg this season. MOHAMED HARATH Algerian Forward Mohamed Harath (198-F-90) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Al Shamal, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 9. The 28-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Al Rayyan (#9, 0-9), the league's bottom-ranked team 86-74. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Shamal as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Shamal defeated bottom-ranked Al Rayyan in Doha 86-74. Al Shamal looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists.
