30-year old center Oumar Seck (208-C-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al Arabi and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 19 rebounds, while his team edged out Al Rayyan (#9, 0-6), the league's bottom-ranked team 68-65. Al Arabi is placed at 4th position in Qatari league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Al Arabi will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. It's Seck's second year at Al Arabi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Seck has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.7rpg) and averages solid 1.7bpg and 62.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Nick Stover (198-F-93) of Al Gharafa. He is American forward in his first season at Al Gharafa. In the last game Stover recorded impressive 34 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Al Gharafa was edged by league's leader Al Sadd (#1, 5-0) 98-95. This loss caused Al Gharafa to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Stover is a newcomer at Al Gharafa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.3ppg (#1). He also registered 10.3 boards per game. Former University of South Alabama star Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jeff Newberry (188-G-92) of Qatar Club (#3). Newberry got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and ten assists. He was a key player of Qatar Club, leading his team to a 85-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Khor (#8, 1-5). Qatar Club needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Newberry has a very solid season. In 2 games in Qatar he scored 25.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mohamed Harath (198-F-90) of Al Shamal - 18 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists
