D1 is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 4 rounds left. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games, games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Wakrah (3-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Qatar Sports Club (3-2) 79-69. Qatar Sports Club have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 3-2 record. Al Wakrah at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Al Shamal. Qatar Sports Club are looking forward to face Al Khor (#8) on the road in the next round. Al Wakrah will play against the league's second-placed Al Shamal (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Doha. Top-ranked Al Sadd (4-0) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Al Arabi (2-2) 78-76 on Sunday evening. Al Sadd maintains first position with 4-0 record. Defending champion Al Arabi keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Al Gharafa. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Gharafa.
A very close game took place in Doha (derby !!!) between Qatar Sports Club and Al Ahli. Fourth ranked Qatar Sports Club (3-2) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Al Ahli (2-3). Qatar Sports Club managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 on Monday evening. Qatar Sports Club have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 3-2 record. Loser Al Ahli dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Qatar Sports Club will meet Al Khor (#8) on the road in the next round. Al Ahli will have a break next round.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Al Shamal (#3) and Al Gharafa (#4). Al Shamal (3-1) won against visiting Al Gharafa (2-2) 89-78. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Al Shamal moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Wakrah. In the last game of round 4 winless Al Rayyan was beaten by Al Ahli on the road 84-75.



Al Wakrah - Qatar Club 69-79

Al Khor's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Doha, where they defeated Al Rayyan (0-5) 89-85 on Monday. They outrebounded Al Rayyan 55-38 including a 44-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Ameer Jackson (193-94, college: Winston Salem) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 15 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Aladji-Bobo Magassa contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five Al Khor players scored in double figures. American-Lebanese guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and international forward Abdelrahman Abdelhaleem (205-96) added 20 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Al Rayyan. Al Khor maintains eighth position with 1-4 record. It was Al Rayyan's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Al Khor will face higher ranked Qatar Sports Club (#4) in Doha in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
