Rayyan victoriously opened their GCC Cup campaign. They topped hosting Nizwa in the opener. Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-F-88, college: Washington) posted 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Qatari side.
Rayyan opened the game on a 17:4 run. They boosted the lead at 16-point mark at halftime 38:22. Nizwa managed to pull within 11 points at the final intermission 39:50. But Rayyan controlled the tempo in the fourth quarter and rallied to the win. Mohamed Hassan had 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Aaron Mitchell (188-G-89, college: Longwood) responded with 17 points for Nizwa.

MUHAMMAD EL-AMIN Qatar Sports Club Doha (D1) inked 31-year old American swingman Muhammad El-Amin (196-95kg-87, college: Stony Brook). He played most recently at Sopron KC in Hungarian A Division. In 27 games he averaged impressive 15.9ppg, 4.4rpg and 5.2apg last season. El-Amin ended the previous (2016-17) season at Atenas (LigaA) in league where in 7 games he had 8.0ppg, 1.4rpg and 2.4apg.
